1. Information We Collect

Account information. When you create a GlowLoop account, we collect the details you provide, such as your name, email address, date of birth, country, and profile photo. Your birthdate and region are used to determine your eligibility and safety settings; your birthdate is stored privately and is never displayed publicly.

Age-verification information. If your account is flagged for an age review (for example, through a "possible underage account" report), we may ask you to submit proof of age. Whenever possible we use trusted age-assurance providers so that GlowLoop receives only an age or eligibility result — not your full ID. If a manual document upload is temporarily necessary, the document is encrypted, accessible only to authorized senior safety reviewers who re-authenticate before viewing, never displayed publicly, logged on every access, and permanently deleted when the review and any required retention period end.

Profile and preference information. We collect the interests, hobbies, and preferences you add to your profile, as well as optional information such as your approximate location, which powers local discovery.

Usage information. We collect information about how you interact with the app, such as features used, circles joined, and general engagement patterns, to improve recommendations and reliability.

Device information. We collect technical data such as device type, operating system, app version, and crash diagnostics.

Support communications. If you contact us — including through our website contact form — we retain your name, email address, and message so we can respond and keep a record of the conversation.

2. How We Use Your Information

To provide and operate GlowLoop, including personalized discovery, matching, communities, and messaging.

To maintain a safe environment, including moderating content, investigating reports, and enforcing our Community Guidelines.

To communicate with you about your account, service updates, and support requests.

To analyze and improve the app, fix issues, and develop new features.

To comply with legal obligations and protect the rights and safety of our users and the public.

3. How We Share Information

With other users. Your profile information is visible to other GlowLoop users according to the privacy settings you choose.

With service providers. The following categories of vendors process data on our behalf, only on our instructions: payment processing (Stripe — receives your checkout email and payment details; GlowLoop never sees your full card number), photo and video hosting (Cloudinary), cloud hosting and database infrastructure (Emergent), email delivery (Resend), and — where used for age reviews — age-assurance verification providers, from which GlowLoop receives only an age or eligibility result.

For legal reasons. We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety, rights, or property of GlowLoop, our users, or others.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising purposes.

3a. Private Messages

Messages you exchange on GlowLoop are visible only to you and the other participant in the conversation. They are not end-to-end encrypted, and we do not advertise them as such.

Our moderation team may access a specific message thread only when it has been reported for a safety concern, and only to the extent needed to review that report, under strict internal access controls.

When you delete your account, your messages are deleted or de-identified within 30 days, except where a message is part of an open safety or legal investigation.

4. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. When you delete your account, we delete or de-identify your personal information within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records for legal, safety, or fraud-prevention purposes.

5. Your Rights and Choices

Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile information in the app at any time.

Download your data. You can export a complete copy of the information we hold about you — profile, posts, comments, messages, friendships, and subscription status — from your profile page in the app.

Deletion. You can delete your account in the app (Settings → Account → Delete Account) or by emailing support@glowloopnow.com from your registered email address.

Privacy controls. You control who can see your profile and who can contact you through in-app privacy settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (such as the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), including the right to access, port, or object to the processing of your data. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@glowloopnow.com.

6. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards — including encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege internal policies — to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but protecting your data is a responsibility we take seriously.

7. Teen Privacy and Safety

Minimum age. GlowLoop is not intended for children below the applicable minimum age. You must be at least 13 years old — or the higher minimum age required in your country or region — to use GlowLoop. In certain locations, the minimum age may be 16.

Birthdates stay private. We use your birthdate and regional information to determine your eligibility and safety settings. Birthdates are private and are never publicly displayed.

Protected teen accounts. Members under 18 receive enhanced protections by default: their profile is visible to members only rather than the public, they do not appear in public discovery surfaces, only confirmed friends can message them, their location is never shown, their posts reach friends only, and they cannot create Pages, Groups, or Events or purchase Premium (which is limited to adults 18+).

Age reviews. We may use reports, account information, and trusted age-assurance providers to investigate possible false birthdates. While a review is open, the flagged account becomes read-only — the member can sign in, browse, download their data, submit verification, and contact support, but cannot post, message, or make purchases.

Verification data. Verification information collected during a review is used only to confirm age, is protected with encryption and strict access controls, is viewable only by authorized senior reviewers (every view is logged), and is deleted after the review and any required retention period. Wherever possible we rely on a third-party provider result rather than storing identity documents.

Rights for teens and guardians. Teens — and, where applicable, a parent or guardian — may request access, correction, deletion, or appeal of a decision, or ask for account support, by emailing support@glowloopnow.com.

Below-minimum accounts. Accounts identified as below the applicable minimum age are suspended and their information is deleted, subject to limited legal and safety-retention requirements.

8. International Data Transfers

GlowLoop is operated from facilities that may be located outside your country of residence. By using the service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in other jurisdictions, where we apply the protections described in this policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app or by email before the changes take effect. The "last updated" date above reflects the most recent revision.
